Add a shift

Tap a day, fill in the times, save.

  1. Open Calendar and tap the day the shift starts on

On a computer the day opens beside the calendar. On a phone it fills the screen — tap ← Back to… to return.
  2. Pick a shift type (optional)

Picking a type fills in its usual start, end and break, if those are still empty.
  3. Set Starts and Ends

These are the only two things you must fill in. As you type, the form shows the paid hours and the time on shift.
  4. Add an Unpaid break (minutes) and a Note if you want

Breaks go in steps of 5 minutes.
  5. Tap Add shift

The shift appears in the day’s list straight away. To add another shift to the same day, fill the form again — it is headed Add another.
A day open, ready to add a Day shift. The dashed box updates as you type.

The fields

FieldRequiredNotes
DateYesThe day the shift starts. It begins as the day you tapped.
Shift typeNo“No type” is fine. Only your live (not archived) types are listed.
StartsYesA time.
EndsYesAn end at or before the start means the next morning — see night shifts.
Unpaid break (minutes)NoComes off the paid hours. Must be shorter than the shift.
NoteNoAnything you want to remember about it.

The date

Date starts as the day you tapped. Change it and the shift is added to that day, and the calendar opens there. A night shift goes on the day it starts. Night shifts and clock changes.

Tip

Two shifts on one day are fine — a morning at one job and an evening at another. The month view shows the first and a “+1”.
