Getting access and signing in

Invites, signing in, forgotten passwords and staying signed in.

Getting an invite

Clock Shift is currently invite-only, so there is no sign-up form. To ask for an account, email [email protected].

Signing in

  1. Go to app.clockshift.app

  2. Enter your email and password

  3. Tap Sign in

    You land on Today.
The sign-in screen. “Forgot it?” is beside the password label.

If the details are wrong you will see That email and password do not match. — the message is the same whichever of the two is wrong, on purpose.

Too many attempts

After 5 attempts for one email address, or 10 from one connection, within 15 minutes, sign-in pauses and shows Too many attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again. Successful sign-ins count towards this too.

If you forget your password

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot it?

  2. Enter your email and tap Send the link

You will see the same message whether or not an account exists for that address.
  3. Open the email

It comes from Clock Shift with the subject Reset your Clock Shift password. Tap Choose a new password.
  4. Type your new password twice and tap Set the password

You are signed in, and signed out everywhere else.
RuleDetail
Password lengthAt least 15 characters. Three or four words you will remember are better than a short scramble. There are no symbol rules.
Breached passwordsA password found in a known data breach is refused — choose another.
Link lifetimeA reset link works once and expires after an hour.
Asking againAsking for a new link stops every earlier link working. You can ask 3 times an hour.

Tip

If the link says That link no longer works, it has expired, been used, or been replaced by a newer one. Tap Send a new link. Check your spam folder before asking again.

Staying signed in, and signing out

  • You stay signed in on a device until you have not used it for 30 days, and for 90 days at most.
  • Sign out is at the top right of every screen. It signs out the device you are on.
  • Resetting your password signs you out on every other device.
