Night shifts and clock changes
Shifts past midnight, the morning after, and the two nights a year the clocks change.
Shifts that run past midnight
Add a night shift on the day it starts, with an end time earlier than the start — for example 19:00 to 07:00. Clock Shift knows it ends the next morning, and the form says Runs past midnight — filed under …, the day it starts.
- The whole shift counts on the day it starts: one shift, not two halves.
- The morning after shows a thin marker — “…07:00” in the month view, “Finishing a night shift” in the list — so that day never looks empty while you were at work.
- A start and end at the same time is a 24-hour shift.
When the clocks change
Clock Shift counts the time you actually worked. A 19:00 to 07:00 night is normally 12 hours.

On those nights the form adds ⏰ The clocks change during this shift, so it is genuinely this long.
The hour that does not exist
When the clocks go forward, 01:00 to 02:00 does not exist. A shift that falls entirely inside it cannot be saved: The clocks change that night and the hour you have entered does not exist. Pick a time before 01:00 or from 02:00.
